Presidential campaigning kicks off in France ahead of 2027 elections – A week in France

On April 18th and May 2nd next year – France will be voting to elect a new president to replace Emmanuel Macron. The country’s latest opinion polls predict a victory for Marine le Pen of the Far-right National Rally. Although the election is still over seven months away, many potential candidates have already thrown their hats into the ring. But do any of them stand a chance of beating the far right? Our guest Eleanor Beardsley from National Public Radio answers that question.
